What portable appliance testing covers
AS/NZS 3760 applies to portable electrical equipment such as leads, kettles, toasters, laptops and fridges.
Retesting intervals depend on where and how each item is used. Hire equipment may need testing every three months, while workshop equipment is often tested every six months. Office equipment may be tested anywhere from annually to every five years.

Mobile testing or Middleton workshop drop-off
Most testing and tagging happens on site, anywhere in Canterbury. Appliances can also be dropped at our workshop in Middleton. We work weekdays, with weekend or after-hours visits by appointment.
Pricing starts with an attendance fee covering the first five items, then per-unit rates. The service is best suited to commercial sites and fleets with approximately 50 or more items.

Failed appliances, registers and service limits
Any failed appliance is instantly tagged out of service and recorded in our testing software, creating a permanent, verifiable paper trail that is fully prepared for insurer or auditor reviews. From there, you have complete record transparency and can choose to dispose of failed assets immediately or set them aside for repair.

It depends on the environment. Hire items need a tag no older than three months. Workshop environments are generally six-monthly, while office equipment runs from 12 months to five years.
